Dr. Wickware grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago. Her interest in caring for animals started at a young age and developed as a volunteer at local animal shelters and while showing horses. She started to develop an interest in Ophthalmology while shadowing specialists in preparation for veterinary school. She then attended veterinary school at The Ohio State University where she completed research in genetics and ophthalmology. Dr. Wickware received the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists’ Veterinary Student Award for her research and passion for veterinary ophthalmology. She then went on to complete a Small Animal Rotating Internship with Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners in Nashville, Tennessee where she devoted extra time to traveling for additional ophthalmology
