What is pannus? Chronic superficial keratitis, or pannus, is a progressive, inflammatory disease of the canine cornea. It is potentially vision threatening due to the development of dense corneal blood vessels, scarring, and pigmentation, as well as infiltration of “fleshy” granulation tissue.
